I have been thinking about this a lot. Am I contributing anything really to the world by writing this blog? Yes I have gushed about my personal life- and written occasionally about politics- but what good is it really doing?
I have decided to end this blog. I thought about just drifting away, but I personally hate when people do that- I want a solid goodbye, so I thought I owed that to you as well.
It has definitely been fun, and I learned a lot about myself through writing this blog. I found that I actulally enjoy commenting on other people's blogs rather than writing my own- so I will continue to do that- I just won't be updating this blog anymore. So maybe it isn't really goodbye- more like
See you around...

Dalia Mogahed Is My Hero...
...And not just because her actual name is my pen name. I have been trying to look at informative blogs and websites this Ramadan to increase my knowledge. When I went to Suhaib Webb's blog, he had posted this clip http://www.suhaibwebb.com/blog/community/irshad-manji-and-dalia-mogahed-who-speaks-for-islam/
When I saw that Irshad Manji was one of the speakers, I almost didn't watch, I am very much a traditional Islam minded person - but because Suhaib Webb posted it, I figured that it would most likely contain something beneficial, so I watched it. And I was completely blown away by this unbelievably articulate woman whose explanations were so comprehensive and so all encompassingly what I believe about Islam but was never able to articulate myself.
She is brilliant, she is well spoken, and she is able to keep her cool when faced with having to respond to ridiculousness. Why have I never heard of her before, I wonder? She is a gift to Muslims everywhere, and if nothing else, I wanted to share this clip with others because in my opinion, she is truly awesome.
Alhamdulillah! We are a blessed people to have such a woman among us. If you haven't seen it already, please check it out. This is the type of person who should be the face of Islam.
